About TU Wien Research Data (Experimental setup)
The TU Wien Research Data (Experimental setup) Repository (powered by InvenioRDM 13.0) is an institutional platform that enables TU Wien members and partners to share and preserve research data and code. It meets legal, institutional, and funder requirements for long-term preservation and sharing, in line with the FAIR principles and Open Science practices.
The CoreTrustSeal certification guarantees that the repository operates efficiently in the following areas:
- Organisational infrastructure: Ensuring persistence and features for addressing legal and ethical issues;
- Digital object management: Quality assurance and long-term availability of content;
- Information technology and security: Robustness and security of the technical infrastructure and software.
Each research data upload undergoes a pre-publication review and is assigned a DOI. Metadata, completeness of documentation, licenses, and file formats are inspected by the repository team to ensure high-quality record metadata. Uploaders keep control over access to the data, choosing whether to share it openly or with selected collaborators.
The repository synchronises with data hubs such as DataCite, OpenAIRE, and BASE, as well as with search services like Google Dataset Search, thereby maximising the visibility of uploaded content. It is also listed by the FAIRsharing and re3data hubs, both recognised by major research funders.
Developed by the TU Wien Center for Research Data Management and hosted by Campus IT, the system ensures secure long-term storage with location-redundant backups across multiple TU Wien sites.
